Hello everyone,
I am sorry. I had to put up such a quick and unoriginal post. It was a very busy week, and I spent very little time writing during it.
Thanks for bearing with me you all.
I have been in a poetry mood (well, when am I not in one?) lately, and I am giddy about sharing more original poems on the blog.
It is funny how your passions seem to overflow with our plans. I planned for this blog to have some occasional poetry. I wasn’t really comfortable with sharing it. Here I am in November and I feel like poetry is my main source of content. 🙂
I love when small life moments give you inspiration for art. I literally wrote a poem about waking up in my bed right after I did just that!
I am a serious nightowl who dreads most mornings. But weirdly I write a lot of my favorite poems in the morning.
Ugh, just thinking about mornings makes me a bit sad.
So here is one of those morning hour inspirations.
Morning
Morning
The pool of saliva found next to your face
Morning
Thoughts of disgust and hygiene fill your mind
Morning
The clock ticks incessantly
Morning
Waves of memory flood you
Morning
“Oh yeah that’s today. When are we doing that…7?”
Morning
“Did I forget to text her back?”
Morning
Slowly recollect thoughts as you stare at the wall
Morning
The clock face makes you frown
Morning
Your stomach rumbles
Morning
Your mind scans through the fridge and pantry
Morning
“I hope there’s more granola.”
Morning
You finally recognize other sounds
Morning
Birds outside and someone clomping down the stairs
Morning
Now a twinge of guilt rises
Morning
“Why don’t I get up?”
Morning
“I’m wasting time”
Morning
Still you don’t make a move
Morning
Thoughts float to emails, tests, and tasks
Morning
“What was the last time I took a shower?”
Morning
“I hope she’s free today.”
Morning
“I hope there is good food to fix.”
Morning
Continued procrastination
Morning
You lift the blankets off your warm body
Morning
You hesitate to touch the floor
Morning
You swing your feet under the blankets
Morning
An idea creeps into your brain
Morning
You grab your little journal
Morning
You begin to jot down a simple poem
Morning
Minutes later
Morning
You finish with a smile
Morning
Your time to shine
Top of the morning to you
There you have it!
I hope you enjoyed my silliness! 🙂
